Colour Your World

Adding Seasonal Beauty to Your Garden

The feel, look, and style of a garden can completely transform with the seasons – and one of the easiest ways to do this is by adding seasonal colour. With the right plants, you can enjoy a garden that bursts with vibrant hues and delightful scents all year round. At Stoneman’s, we love helping you get creative with eye-catching combinations and fragrant blooms that bring every corner of your garden to life.

Colour and Scent Inspiration for Your Garden

Bold & Beautiful

Nothing catches the eye quite like strong shades of red, yellow, and blue. Pair yellow with blue for a striking, high-contrast display.

Contrast is Key

Use the colour wheel to your advantage! Opposites attract in the garden – try orange with blue, yellow with purple, or red with green. Add touches of white to make your colours really pop.

Neutral Hues

Whites, silvers, beige, and cream work beautifully with any colour palette. They’re fantastic fillers and help soften bold planting schemes.

Hot, Hot, Hot

Create drama with fiery tones – pinks, oranges, reds, and purples bring energy and excitement, perfect for focal points in the garden.

Soft & Sweet

Pastel shades of pale yellow, lavender, baby blue, and cream (instead of bright white) create a soothing, calming effect that feels gentle and fresh.

Scented Annuals

Fragrance is just as important as colour. Many blooms that open later in the day rely on perfume to attract pollinators. To maximise scent, cluster pots of fragrant annuals in your entertainment areas or plant en masse for impact. The more you grow, the stronger the perfume!
